Stuart Wilde’s “Redeemers Club”

FEAL | 22 May 2006

Here’s a new website relating to an aspect of Stuart Wilde’s endeavours that are in development.
http://www.redeemersclub.com/index.html

It’s called The Redeemers Club which Stuart describes as:

“I have been writing on the Internet for seven years but now what I want to do is to retreat to a more private place where I can write in a less inhibited way. To that end, I am starting a new site called The Redeemer’s Club. It will essentially begin as an association in virtual reality of spiritual scallywags that seek their own redemption by learning how to offer it to others.”

Loose Change – 9/11 Documentary

FEAL | 14 May 2006

I recommend checking out the following Scoop news article regarding the Loose Change 9/11 documentary. It provides a useful run down on what this documentary is about and the impact it is having.

You can watch the whole film (1 hour 20 minutes) online, and you can also download it using Bittorrent (if you know what that is and how to go about it — a quick search on Google will give you that info). It is not copy righted so downloading it in this way is legal.

The torrent link is: http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3425065
It can be watched online via Google Movie if you have broadband internet. Click here to watch it that way now. It is also viewable here:

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article12233.htm

Downloading the torrent will give you a compressed DVD rip which can be burnt to two CD-ROMs for viewing on a computer. It comes out much bigger and better in quality than the online streaming versions (like Google video), but of course the content is the same.

The web site for the Loose Change documentary is http://www.loosechange911.com
Enjoy.

The Scoop article is here: http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO0604/S00164.htm

You can also get this movie as part of a set that James Samual (Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand) has put together. Go here for that:

Information is a human right – video materials

FEAL | 05 May 2006

James Samuel living on Waiheke Island (Auckland, New Zealand) has put a number of great web sites together. One of them makes available a large list of excellent documentaries.

I have not looked into the copyright aspect of the material he is providing (for the cost of the media you buy it on) and will therefore assume it is copyright and James is willing to forgo that. I have no issue with that, but you might want to decide if you do. I gather James takes the view that “information is a human right” and if that works for you then check out this site, get the documentaries and watch them. If you have the money and desire to support the producers of the material then make a point of sending them a contribution or even buying the materials you find are of value to you.

Copyright issues aside, this is a great resource of video material for those that wish to get more informed about alternative perspectives on what’s happening in the world at this time…perspectives seldom, if ever, shown on mainstream media.

Free Esoteric booklist – Islamlib.com

FEAL | 02 May 2006

Islam & Esoteric ebooks – Islamlib.com

There are many great spiritual texts available free (legally) on the internet. Here is one page listing many such books. Many of these here are related to Islamic mysticism and religion. There are some, however, that are more generalised such as the one I was looking for “Knowledge of the Higher Worlds and Its Attainment” by Rudolf Steiner.

Happy reading…

Conspiracy Central | XBNBT Tracker Index

FEAL | 11 Apr 2006

Greetings…

If you wish to access a vast resource of non-conventional information that is often times interesting and highly relevant to the present state of the world, I recommend checking out the Conspiracy Central Torrent Tracker. Of course it is vital to use your own intuitive and reasoning faculties of discernment to sort the wheat from the chaff when looking at this sort of info. I will simply add, however, that there is plenty of good “wheat” available from this source. There’s plenty of crap too, but nothing a discerning mind won’t pick up on.

If you have not familiar with what a BitTorrent is then you may want to do a search on Google for info. Simply put, it is a way to download files from the internet quickly and from a userbased-array of non-centralised sources.

Ubuntu (ideology) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FEAL | 11 Mar 2006

Ubuntu (ideology) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ubuntu

Here is Ubuntu as defined in the Wikipedia:

Ubuntu (ideology)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Ubuntu (IPA: /ùbúntú/) is a sub-Saharan African ethic or ideology focusing on people’s allegiances and relations with each other. The word has its origin in the Bantu languages of Southern Africa. Ubuntu is seen as a traditional African concept.

A rough translation in English could be “humanity towards others,” or “I am because we are,” or “A person ‘becomes human’ through other persons”, or also, “A person is a person because of other persons”. Another translation could be: “The belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.” [1].

An attempt at a longer definition has been made by Archbishop Desmond Tutu:

A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed.

Ubuntu is seen as one of the founding principles of the new republic of South Africa, and is connected to the idea of an African Renaissance. In the political sphere, the concept of ubuntu is used to emphasise the need for unity or consensus in decision-making, as well as the need for a suitably humanitarian ethic to inform those decisions.

Louw (1998) suggests that the concept of ubuntu defines the individual in terms of their several relationships with others, and stresses the importance of ubuntu as a religious concept, stating that while the Zulu maxim umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu (“a person is a person through other persons”) may have no apparent religious connotations in the context of Western society, in an African context it suggests that the person one is to become by behaving with humanity is an ancestor worthy of respect or veneration. Those who uphold the principle of ubuntu throughout their lives will, in death, achieve a unity with those still living.

Ubuntu: An African Assessment of the Religious Other

FEAL |

Hi recently came across the word “Ubuntu” whilst exploring options for running my computers on free opensource linux based operating systems. There is a linux distribution called Ubuntu which I will be trying out. Anyway… I liked the sound of what this Zulu word “Ubuntu” refers to. Below is a small snippet from one site on this topic (I will post another next):

20th WCP: Ubuntu: An African Assessment of the Religious Other
(1) Ubuntu and religion

Ubuntu (a Zulu word) serves as the spiritual foundation of African societies. It is a unifying vision or world view enshrined in the Zulu maxim umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu, i.e. “a person is a person through other persons” (Shutte, 1993:46). At bottom, this traditional African aphorism articulates a basic respect and compassion for others. It can be interpreted as both a factual description and a rule of conduct or social ethic. It both describes human being as “being-with-others” and prescribes what “being-with-others” should be all about. As such, Ubuntu adds a distinctly African flavour and momentum to a decolonized assessment of the religious other. In fact, the various overlaps between such an assessment and the African way of life as described/prescribed by Ubuntu, make this assessment nothing but an enactment of the African Ubuntu.

The first important overlap between Ubuntu and a decolonized assessment of the religious other, has to do with a fundamental presupposition of this assessment, viz. a respect for the other as a religious other. While Western Humanism tends to underestimate or even deny the importance of religious beliefs, Ubuntu or African Humanism is resiliently religious (Prinsloo, 1995:4). For the Westerner, the maxim “A person is a person through other persons” has no obvious religious connotations. He/she will probably interpret it as nothing but a general appeal to treat others with respect and decency. However, in African tradition this maxim has a deeply religious meaning. The person one is to become “through other persons” is, ultimately, an ancestor. And, by the same token, these “other persons” include ancestors. Ancestors are extended family. Dying is an ultimate homecoming. Not only the living must therefore share with and care for each other, but the living and the dead depend on each other (Van Niekerk, 1994:2; Ndaba, 1994:13-14).

Vipassana Meditation Website

FEAL | 25 Jul 2005

Vipassana Meditation Website

I have just completed my forth 10-day Vipassana course. I did the first one about 9 years ago and—like millions before me and after me—I found it to be truly wonderful experience.

I’ve seen many teachers and teachings in this world, and there are few that I recommend to people. Mainly because I find that most things are not universal in nature and hence can never be of value to all people. Vipassana I find to be universal in nature and of immediate and very real benefit to any person that seriously tries it.

There are many people now teaching Vipassana. Most charge money. Vipassana—as taught by this non-profit organisation—charge no fee for doing the course. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone that feels any degree of attraction to it. I’ve only received this meditation through this source and I am grealful for the purity they have maintained.

Check it out…
